Keep Listening – advanced hairs!

Firstly I came up with another interactive piece. This one is very similar to the first, however the hairs to the left are more responsive. This reflects how the ear works.

The first hairs within the ear, respond to high frequencies. As you get deeper into the inner ear the hairs respond to lower frequencies. The hairs near the front are moved more as they feel the greater force, and therefore are more prone to damage e.g. when you listen to loud music you often hear a high pitch tone the next day.

This diagram represents the different sensitivities of the hairs within the inner ear.
